Privacy Policy
Effective date: May 1, 2026
The short version
- We never sell, share, license, rent, or transfer your data to anyone.
- Your documents and audio are not used to train any AI model — ours or anyone else's.
- You can delete any document, any audiobook, or your entire account at any time. When you delete something, we delete it for real.
- The only third parties involved are the cloud services we need to run the product (hosting, speech synthesis, payments, email) — they process data on our instructions and aren't allowed to use it for anything else.
This Privacy Policy describes how Tiny Town Software ("Tiny Town", "we", "us", "our") handles information in connection with the Audiobook Forge service (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to the practices described here.
This document is plain-English by design and is not legal advice. If your jurisdiction requires specific disclosures, have a qualified attorney review it before relying on it.
1. What we collect
1.1 Account information
When you create an account, we collect your email address. If you set a password, we store only a one-way cryptographic hash of it — we never store the password itself. We may also store a security stamp, sign-in tokens, and second-factor enrollment data if you enable those features.
1.2 Documents you upload
We store the source files you upload (EPUB, PDF, TXT), the plain text we extract from them, optional cover images, and metadata such as title, author, language, and chapter structure. This is used solely to generate the audiobook you requested and to display it in your library.
1.3 Generated audio
We store the audiobook files we produce so you can re-download them from your library. We do not analyze, publish, or reuse them for any other purpose.
1.4 Payment information
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not see, store, or process your full card number. We retain Stripe-issued identifiers (checkout session id, payment intent id) so we can reconcile orders and process refunds.
1.5 Operational logs
We collect minimal server logs (IP address, user agent, request paths, timestamps) and error telemetry needed to keep the Service running and to prevent abuse. Sign-in attempts and magic-link requests are logged for the same reason.
1.6 Cookies
We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies (authentication session, anti-forgery token, rate-limit identifiers). We do not use advertising cookies or third-party trackers.
2. How we use it
- To produce the audiobook you requested and deliver it to you.
- To operate, secure, and maintain the Service.
- To send you transactional email about your account and your orders.
- To prevent fraud, abuse, and copyright infringement.
- To comply with legal obligations when we have to.
That's the entire list. We don't use your data for anything not on it.
3. We do not share your data
We never sell, share, license, rent, or otherwise transfer your personal information, your uploaded documents, or your generated audio to any third party for any purpose.
The Service runs on cloud infrastructure that necessarily processes your data on our behalf in order to deliver the product. These providers are bound by their contracts with us to use that data only to provide the service we asked for, and not for their own purposes:
- Microsoft Azure — hosting, database, blob storage, application monitoring.
- Azure AI Speech — converts your text into audio. Microsoft contractually does not use Speech inputs or outputs to train its models.
- Azure AI Content Safety — automated screening of extracted text for prohibited content.
- Stripe — payment processing.
- Email delivery provider — transactional email (sign-in links, completion notifications).
4. We do not train AI on your data
Your uploaded documents, the text we extract from them, and the audio we produce are not used to train any AI model — ours or anyone else's. We do not provide your content to any AI training pipeline, dataset, or third-party research effort. Azure AI Speech, the service that performs the actual text-to-speech synthesis, is contractually prohibited from using your inputs or outputs to improve its models.
5. Deletion: your data, your call
You can delete your data at any time, and when you do, we delete it for real:
- Delete an individual document or audiobook from your library at any time. This hard-deletes the source file, extracted text, cover image, and any generated audio associated with it.
- Close your account by emailing privacy@tinytownsoftware.com. We will promptly hard-delete your documents, audiobooks, and personal account data.
Limited exceptions: payment records that we are legally required to retain for tax purposes, and anonymized operational logs that no longer identify you. Anything we keep is the bare minimum the law requires; we do not keep "shadow" copies.
6. Your other rights
- Access and download a copy of your account data.
- Correct or update your account information.
- Request a list of every document and audiobook we hold for you.
To exercise any of these, email privacy@tinytownsoftware.com.
7. Where your data lives
Data is stored in the United States. We do not transfer it to other regions for processing.
8. Security
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (Azure-managed encryption). Passwords are hashed with a modern, salted KDF. We rate-limit sign-in and abuse-prone endpoints and monitor for unauthorized access. No system is perfectly secure, however — you are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials confidential.
9. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Copyright and your uploads
You must own or hold valid rights to the documents you upload. We require an explicit ownership / fair-use attestation on every upload, which we log with a timestamp and IP address. We comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act ("DMCA"); takedown notices and counter-notices may be sent to dmca@tinytownsoftware.com.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced via email and/or an in-product notice at least 14 days before they take effect. We will not retroactively change how we treat data you have already given us in a way that is materially less protective.
